Inside This Issue

In times of change and uncertainty, the most powerful thing we can do is invest in ourselves. As early childhood professionals, you are the heart of the community, guiding young minds, nurturing growth, and helping shape the next generation.

As you support young children, it’s also important to invest in your own growth. Professional Development offers an opportunity to deepen your understanding, expand your knowledge, and reconnect with your purpose. Whether you're looking to explore new approaches in the classroom, strengthen your leadership style, or stay up to date on critical regulations, this issue has something for you.

UPDATES & ANNOUNCEMENTS

Universal Preschool Accomplishments in Arapahoe County

During the 2024–2025 school year, Universal Preschool in Arapahoe County made significant strides, with 242 participating providers currently serving 5,628 students. As we look ahead to the 2025–2026 school year, momentum continues to build. Family registration is now open, and the new provider agreement for 2025–2026 is ready. These numbers show the commitment of providers and families in Arapahoe County to expand access to high-quality early education for all children.

At the beginning of April, an important update to Colorado’s health and sanitation rules for childcare facilities will take effect. These updates were finalized by the Colorado Department of Public Health & Environment (CDPHE) last month. Detailed information and how to sign up is on the next page.

TRAUMA RESPONSIVE CARE

While dealing with the impact of trauma, adults may have a decreased ability to provide sensitive and responsive care to children and some adults may experience secondary traumatic stress. We invite you to join us for a six-session series where we will explore trauma and learn ways to provide responsive care to support children and families, who are currently experiencing or have experienced, trauma in their past.
